Overview
Parksite, a 100% employee‑owned company, is seeking an experienced and safety‑focused Truck Driver Associate to join our growing logistics operations. Responsibilities- Operate company‑owned and leased Class A trucks to deliver and pick up building materials.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely and safe service.
- Drive safely in varying weather and road conditions while maintaining strict compliance with DOT hours‑of‑service regulations.
- Represent Parksite professionally during all customer interactions.
- Secure loads using proper tie‑down techniques, including winch/ratchet strap systems, chains, binders, and side‑curtain wall systems.
- Assist with hand loading/unloading and operate forklifts as required.
- Conduct post‑trip inspections, complete DOT inspection reports, and maintain vehicle cleanliness and documentation.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, record mileage, fuel usage, and report required data to dispatch and management.
- Follow all safety rules, participate in safety meetings, and report hazards immediately.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Operations Manager and dispatch coordinators.
- Valid CDL Class A license in good standing.
- Minimum 3 years of professional commercial driving experience.
- Excellent motor‑vehicle record (no major violations).
- Valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT medical card).
- Basic math skills for calculating distances and fuel consumption.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret safety rules, bills of lading, route maps, and DOT regulations.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Independent, reliable, and punctual with strong communication skills.
- Regularly lift and move materials up to 50 lbs., occasionally up to 90 lbs.
- Adapt to hot, cold, and varied environmental conditions.
- Sit for extended periods while driving and stand/walk throughout the shift.
- Climb into and out of truck cab and onto flatbed as needed.
- Handle exposure to bright lights, noise, and temperature extremes.
- Warehouse distribution center with frequent use of hands and feet for grasping, lifting, securing loads, and operating equipment controls.
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and handling of pallets, panels, lumber, straps, and tools.
- Use of forklifts, winches, and ratchet straps for load securement.
- Continuous standing and walking for most of the shift (8–10+ hours).
- Exposure to bright lights, loud noise, dust, fumes, and temperature variations.
- Full‑time position, day shift (typically early morning starts).
- Flexibility to work overtime during peak periods and occasional overnight trips.
