Chemetal, an Easthampton, MA manufacturer and distributor of metal designs for interior design projects seeks an Architectural Product Designer.

Responsibilities

• Client
  
  Collaboration:
  
  Present technical design solutions directly to architecture and design firms and their fabricators.
• Digital Fabrication Setup:
  Create, clean, and optimize vector files and toolpaths for CNC machining and precision laser cutting equipment.
• Prototyping:
  Oversee the fabrication of physical mock‑ups, collaborating directly with shop craftsmen to troubleshoot production challenges on the floor.
• Estimating CAD and CNC project costs.
• Product Development:
  Work with design and sales teams in design and development of premium interior metal materials, both in‑house and vendor‑sourced.
• Hands‑on fabrication.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in architectural product design, high‑end millwork/metal fabrication, or related fields.
• Strong computer skills (CAD, Adobe Creative Suite) and practical design and fabrication skills, ideally with metal.
• Ability to work independently or within a team, and willingness to work in‑person at the Easthampton facility.
• Excellent presentation and client communication abilities.

Education

• BA/BS in Architecture or Industrial Design (or equivalent experience).
