Salary: In accordance with the Easthampton Educators Association contract.
Position OverviewThis position involves designing and delivering standards-based grade-level instruction, creating inclusive classroom environments, guiding learning toward district curriculum goals, assessing student progress, and engaging in professional growth.
Responsibilities- Designs and delivers standards-based grade-level instruction that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of Easthampton students.
- Creates a classroom environment that fosters belonging, engagement, and joyful learning, aligned to the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
- Guides the learning process toward district curriculum goals; establishes and communicates clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
- Welcomes students each day with consistency and care, ensuring instructional time is maximized.
- Prepares thoughtfully for classes and demonstrates evidence of planning rigorous daily lessons.
- Employs a variety of instructional strategies, techniques, and resources to meet the diverse needs of learners, with an emphasis on culturally responsive and inclusive practices.
- Models the district’s philosophy of education—high expectations, equity, and inclusion—through instruction and action.
- Assesses student progress regularly; provides meaningful feedback, progress reports, and engages families as partners in learning.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and timely records in accordance with law, district policy, and administrative requirements.
- Identifies student learning challenges and collaborates with district coaches, school administrators, and colleagues to support student growth.
- Establishes clear classroom expectations aligned with district policies and implements those expectations fairly and consistently.
- Collaborates with para educators to support the needs of all learners in the classroom.
- Engages in continuous professional growth to meet district expectations and personal career goals.
- Participates in the teacher evaluation process with professionalism and collaboration.
- Attends school and district meetings to support communication, teamwork, and decision‑making.
- Participates in school and district family engagement opportunities (e.g., Back to School Night, Open House, community events) as agreed upon with the building principal.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional practice to enhance outcomes for all students.
- Adheres to Easthampton Public Schools’ policies and expectations regarding equity, nondiscrimination, and Title IX.
- Teacher, World Language (any language), 5–12 OR Teacher, Latin and Classical Humanities, 5–12, DESE license required.
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field required.
- Master’s Degree with appropriate content‑area license preferred (or expected within 5 years).
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum frameworks, instructional practices, and strategies to support diverse learners.
- Commitment to equity, inclusivity, and creating a safe, supportive learning environment.
