Job Description:

Location: Easthampton, Massachusetts

Purchasing Manager – East Hampton MA – F/T Direct Placement – Competitive salary: $95,000–$120,000

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our client’s fabulous team in Easthampton, MA. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with our current Purchasing Director as part of a planned succession and knowledge-transfer process before his retirement.

The ideal candidate will bring strong procurement expertise, manufacturing experience, and a strategic mindset to support our continued growth.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies for raw materials, chemicals, packaging, and MRO supplies
• Source and qualify suppliers in collaboration with Manufacturing, R&D, and Product Development teams
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and long-term supply agreements
• Identify and execute cost-saving and cost-reduction initiatives
• Monitor commodity markets and raw material pricing trends
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, cost, and service
• Conduct supplier audits and maintain strong vendor relationships
• Resolve supply chain disruptions and material shortages
• Drive continuous improvement with suppliers

Desired Background/

Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems
• Knowledge of raw material markets including films, resins, rubber, acrylics, silicones, solvents, and packaging materials
• Experience in tape, adhesive, coatings, chemical, or converting industries
• Previous leadership or procurement team management experience
• Familiarity with global sourcing and import/export regulations
• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience
