We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Double Miter Saw Operator to operate our two Miter Saws. Each saw is computer-controlled and receives cut programs directly from R&R's Production Department. The operator is responsible for loading material, inspecting stock, performing accurate cuts, and supporting additional fabrication tasks when cutting work is not available.
Duties- Operate a FOM Industries Blitz 60 Double Miter Saw to cut aluminum stock according to pre-programmed cut lists sent by the Production Department
- Receive, open, and handle 24 ft. aluminum stock packages, ensuring all materials are inspected for damage before use.
- Load saws with stock lengths and ensure correct alignment, clamping, and cutting quality
- Monitor machine operation, troubleshoot minor issues, and communicate any equipment concerns to the Shop Manager
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in compliance with shop safety standards
- Assist in other fabrication shop activities when saw work is not available, including learning additional shop equipment and processes
- Follow all safety procedures related to machine operation, lifting, and material handling
- Vocational/Technical School Graduate of Advanced Manufacturing or another similar program
- Or 1 year of On the Job experience with Metal Fabrication or other similar trade
- Computer literacy - ability to interact with saw controls, review digital cut lists, and follow computer-generated layouts
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn specialized fabrication equipment
- Physical ability to lift, move, and position material weighing 80-100 lbs.
- Ability to read and understand basic measurements, fractions and shop drawings (preferred)
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with the Production Department and Shop Team
Compensation: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
