The school nurse provides direct nursing care to students, manages chronic health conditions, responds to emergencies, promotes health education, and helps ensure a safe and healthy school environment.

• Assess and treat students with minor injuries or illnesses.
• Administer medications and first aid according to school policy.
• Monitor and manage student health records and immunization compliance.
• Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with special needs or chronic conditions.
• Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate emergency procedures.
• Communicate with parents, teachers, administrators, and healthcare providers about student health concerns.
• Provide health education and wellness guidance to students and staff.
• Conduct screenings for vision, hearing, height, weight, or other required assessments.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with health and education regulations.
• Support infection prevention and control efforts within the school.

• DESE license:
  Professional Support Personnel, School Nurse, All Levels required.
