Northeast Center for Youth & Families (NCYF) is seeking enthusiastic, dedicated Residential Counselors to join our Residential Services team. Residential Counselors work closely with our residents in therapeutic group homes to guide them to success while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

In this role you will work directly with youth to implement treatment plans, lead and model activities of daily living through effective use of structure and routine, and support the treatment philosophy of the program, centered around the trauma‑informed care model. A successful Residential Counselor with NCYF will have the ability to assess and evaluate situations, exhibit a high level of initiative, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.

You will communicate efficiently with parents, schools, DCF, DMH, and other community supports. New employees will gradually assimilate into the NCYF culture and we will work with you to develop your competencies so that you can fully enjoy our collaborative efforts.

• High School Diploma or equivalent with experience in the field
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of the principles of trauma‑informed care.
• Adult & Child CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred (we will train staff)
• Approved CORI & DCF background checks (preformed by the EEC)
• Approved driving background check
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
