** Buyer** – you will report to the Site Procurement Manager.
** On a given day, you may:
*** Receive and review requisitions for goods and services.
* Communicate with vendors to obtain pricing, availability, and delivery details.
* Assist with issuing purchase orders through the ERP system.
* Track open orders and expedite deliveries as needed to support production schedules.
* Maintain positive communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
* Gather and update supplier information, pricing, and lead times.
* Support the team during quotation requests and basic negotiations. (Entry-level adaptation of strategic/managerial responsibilities)
* Maintain procurement records including item purchased, costs, delivery, quality, and inventory status.
* Assist in monitoring supplier performance metrics as needed.
* Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with department processes.
* Collaborate with other departments (engineering, production, product management) to resolve order-related questions.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate better terms and pricing, ensuring cost stability despite inflationary pressures.
* Support continuous improvement activities within the purchasing function.
* Perform additional purchasing-related tasks as assigned.
** Requirements for the role:
*** High school diploma required.
* Associate or Bachelor’s Degree required.
* Knowledge of general machine manufacturing.
* 2-3 years’ experience as a Buyer or Purchaser.
* Experience working with ERP systems. Epicor experience a plus.
* Experience reading engineered drawings preferred.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
* Professional communication skills (written and verbal).
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Customer service–oriented mindset.
* Desire to learn purchasing processes and grow within the department.
