Position Overview
  • Work cooperatively to develop and enhance robust manufacturing processes and tooling to support growth in aerospace and industrial investment casting markets.
  • Develop, maintain, and teach best‑practice investment casting procedures and practices to meet business objectives.
  • Identify problems, generate alternatives, and implement solutions affecting yield, rework, and overall quality with a standardized approach.
  • Take a leadership role occasionally in resolving cross‑functional problems on cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support construction of dies (shrink factor analysis), gages, and tooling needed to produce and inspect ceramic cores, wax patterns, and castings.
  • Identify and improve process yields using statistical, mathematical, DOE, Six Sigma, and other data analysis techniques.
  • Interface with tooling vendors and CPP Purchasing to produce quality tools/dies at competitive prices.
  • Control dimensional quality of castings to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Develop internal job instructions.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new process technologies to improve manufacturing and product capabilities.
  • Document work procedures and processes.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure organizational objectives are met.
  • Publish reports on research and completed tests using data‑based decisions.
  • Audit production lots routinely for adherence to established techniques and repeatability of results.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere through professional behavior and communication.
  • Improve labor utilization and reduce cost.
  • Communicate with tooling suppliers, core suppliers, and customers to meet product needs.
Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience
  • BS in Engineering or related technical field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in mechanical or product engineering.
  • Experience in the investment casting industry preferred.
Other Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of DS/SX (Directionally Solidified / Single Crystal) and Equiaxed casting processes, shell parameters, and dimensional impact.
  • Knowledge of statistics, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T.
  • Ability to interpret customer specifications and establish internal NDT specifications.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Proficient PC skills, with experience using NX/UG, Solid Works, GOM, Minitab, and Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong program management and organizational skills.
  • Innovative thinking, team orientation, assertiveness, energy, self‑starter attitude, risk‑taking, and a sense of urgency.
