Midwest Precision is seeking a Quality Technician to support inspection, quality verification, and production quality activities within our precision machining environment. This role is responsible for performing inspections, verifying compliance to drawing and customer requirements, maintaining accurate quality documentation, and supporting production flow through timely inspection activities.
The ideal candidate has experience working in a manufacturing or machining environment and is comfortable using inspection equipment, reading blueprints, and working within structured quality systems. Attention to detail, accountability, and strong communication are essential for success in this position.
ResponsibilitiesPerform dimensional and visual inspections on machined components
Conduct first piece, in-process, and final inspections
Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and GD&T requirements
Utilize inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools
Verify calibration status of inspection equipment prior to use
Complete inspection reports, job travelers, FAI documentation, and quality records accurately
Identify and report nonconforming material or out-of-tolerance conditions
Support nonconformance documentation and corrective action processes
Maintain traceability and documentation in accordance with AS9100D and internal quality requirements
Utilize ERP and quality systems for job tracking and inspection documentation
Support production and quality teams in maintaining workflow and quality standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
QualificationsMinimum 2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience using precision measuring equipment and inspection tools
Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel and email systems
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with production and quality personnel
Preferred QualificationsExperience in CNC machining or precision manufacturing environments
Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience
Experience with AS9100D or ISO quality systems
Familiarity with First Article Inspection (AS9102)
Experience using CMM equipment or quality software systems
Experience with E2 or manufacturing ERP systems
