Position: Boxing/Assembly (A2313)
Our client in Eastlake is seeking a reliable candidate for a 2nd-shift boxing and assembly position.

Position Requirements
  • Must be able to remain on your feet for the duration of the shift.

  • Must be able to repeatedly lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Print box labels and tank labels for all tanks wound and placed on the production line during the assigned shift.

  • Prepare enough boxes for all tanks wound and placed on the line during the shift.

  • Prepare enough base boxes to start the shift. If a box has only one layer remaining, empty it and replace it with a full box.

  • Flame and tape all 16" bases required for tanks wound and placed on the line during the shift.

  • Flame all 14" bases required for tanks wound and placed on the line.

  • Prepare all required 16" and/or 14" single boxes for tanks wound and placed on the line.

  • Perform final visual quality control before tanks are boxed. Inspect each tank for cosmetic or workmanship issues, including loose or fuzzy strands, dry areas, or areas requiring spray/resin on the inlet or threads. Set aside questionable tanks and notify Quality Control or a supervisor.

  • Take tanks requiring rerolling or recirculation to the appropriate winder for rework. If no winder is available for that color, place the tank in a box and label it with the winder number, shift, and reason for rework.

  • Record tanks that cannot be repaired by the boxer or winder on the scrap sheet. Complete the scrap documentation and dispose of the tank in the designated compactor.

  • For tanks 60" or taller, bases must be flamed and glued, and the tank must be properly leveled.

  • Sand and spray tails on all Cabinet Plug, T&B No Base, and 16" tanks.

  • Use the designated drill to clean the inlet on all T&B tank bottoms, except UF tanks.

  • Place the appropriate shift sticker on all gaylords and single boxes.

  • When returning boxes to Shipping, place them in the proper row and stack them correctly.

  • Switch all dome-hole equipment to the proper tank size for the tanks currently on the production line.

  • After cutting a dome hole, file around the edge, apply glue, and place the tank under the designated light source for at least one minute.

  • Bring out new skids of gaylords, unbundle them, and remove protective cardboard and plastic strapping.

  • Restock skids, foam collars, tape, staples, black base glue, and other required supplies as needed.

  • Return hangers to the winding department.

  • At the end of the shift, or when finished using the equipment, clean out and underneath the dome-hole cutter machine.

  • Remove all food and candy wrappers, used gloves, cups, and other trash from the boxing table.

  • Remove all scrap skids and cardboard from the work area.

  • Sweep the boxing area, empty garbage, and place waste in the designated compactor.

  • Work Area Standard

Keep the boxing area clean, organized, safe, and ready for the next shift.
