Position Summary
The Software Developer is responsible for assisting in the design, development, and troubleshooting of software at the operation. This includes analyzing existing systems in cooperation with plant and corporate management to increase efficiency, timeliness, and the value of reported information, and to reduce overall operating expense. The role also includes developing, implementing, and instructing users on newly approved systems with minimal disruption to present operations.
The incumbent is responsible for the operation and growth of the Minerva, Crooksville, Merida facilities, outside vendors, and connections to other PCC facilities.
- Code, test, and troubleshoot programs using the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology.
- Meet or exceed customer expectations daily through a positive attitude, consistent follow‑up, and frequent communication with requestors on the status of projects and issues.
- Maintain and modify programs and make approved changes by amending reports, developing detailed programming logic, and code changes.
- Write new program code using prescribed specifications as documented and approved on appropriate internal change request systems.
- Understand and conform to all department, division, corporate, and SOX IT policies.
- Evaluate simple interrelationships between programs so that a contemplated change does not cause unwanted results in related parts.
- Analyze program performance and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with users and appropriate approvals.
- Confer with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs.
- Resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls.
- Document and map processes in multiple areas to gain understanding of needs, inefficiencies, and sources of error to improve the process using modifications to existing applications or development of new applications.
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.
- Document programming changes, problems, and resolutions for future reference and change control management.

- Proven oral and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
- Five or more years of relevant software development experience with extensive use of Microsoft .NET frameworks and SQL.
- Experience with Visual Studio and preferred C# programming language.
- Experience with T‑SQL and the Microsoft development stack.
- Experience with DAX and SSRS.
- Experience with Power BI preferred.
