Art Teacher

Halifax County Schools is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Art Teacher to inspire students through visual arts instruction. The ideal candidate will foster artistic expression, critical thinking, and an appreciation of art across diverse media while supporting school-wide learning goals.

• Develop and implement standards-aligned art curriculum for assigned grade levels
• Teach visual arts concepts, techniques, and art history
• Encourage creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking in students
• Organize student art exhibitions, contests, and displays
• Maintain classroom materials, supplies, and equipment
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
• Communicate with parents and collaborate with staff
• Participate in professional development and school events

• Bachelor’s degree in Art Education or related field
• Valid North Carolina Department of Public Instruction teaching license in Art (K–12 or relevant grade band)
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Passion for fostering creativity and artistic growth in students

• Experience teaching elementary, middle, or high school art
• Knowledge of various art media and technology integration in art instruction
• Experience with student art exhibitions or competitions
