Pre-K Teacher

Halifax County Schools is seeking a nurturing, energetic, and creative Pre-K Teacher to support the academic, social, and emotional development of young learners. The ideal candidate will create a safe, engaging classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and school readiness.

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate, play-based instruction
• Teach early literacy, numeracy, and foundational social skills
• Support social-emotional development and positive behavior
• Create a structured yet engaging daily routine
• Assess student growth through observation and developmental tools
• Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Valid state teaching certification (Pre-K or Early Childhood preferred)
• Knowledge of child development and early learning standards
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• CPR/First Aid certification (preferred or required based on state)

• Prior experience teaching in a Pre-K or early childhood setting
• Familiarity with play-based and inquiry-based learning models
• Experience working with diverse learners
