Aviation Instructor
This is a part time position teaching undergraduate courses (depending on degree) in areas to include, but not limited to: aircraft systems, crew resource management, flight operations, and FAR Part 141 ground school courses.
Teach various aviation undergraduate courses in the Aviation Science and Management Department Advise and mentor aviation students on academic and career aspirations Develop course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, tests, and projects Evaluate student achievement and competence Collaborate with faculty and industry advisory committee Demonstrate willingness to learn and use D2L, the online teaching and learning platform
Required Educational Qualifications Master
¿ s Degree required. If Master
¿ s or Doctorate Degree is not in Aviation, extensive experience in Aviation along with a Master
¿ s or Doctorate Degree will be required for this position. Other Required Qualifications Demonstrate ability to teach a broad array of aviation training courses.
Preferred Educational Qualifications Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a doctoral degree in aviation Preferred Experience Civilian aviation experience with a background in FAR Part 121 or 135 operations Industry experience in aviation Teaching experience in aviation Other Required Qualifications Although this position does not involve flight instruction, possession of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certificated Flight Instructor rating (CFI) and/or Ground Instructor certificates (AGI, IGI.
