Job Description
The Night Shift Production Supervisor leads daily manufacturing operations to ensure that safety, quality, and productivity standards are consistently met on the night shift. This role focuses on optimizing production performance, controlling labor costs, and minimizing downtime through effective troubleshooting and adherence to operational benchmarks. The supervisor develops, coaches, and motivates team members while enforcing company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and compliance standards.
Success in this position requires strong communication skills, hands-on leadership, and a continuous improvement mindset to deliver reliable and efficient production outcomes.
- Lead and oversee daily night shift manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production.
- Monitor production performance against established benchmarks and take corrective actions to meet or exceed targets.
- Optimize labor utilization and control labor costs while maintaining high productivity and quality standards.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Promote and enforce safety standards, encouraging a strong safety culture across the night shift team.
- Coach, develop, and motivate employees to improve performance, engagement, and skill levels.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with team members and other shifts to ensure smooth handovers and alignment.
- Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, Six Sigma, or other improvement methods where applicable.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area in accordance with operational and regulatory requirements.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in production supervision and manufacturing processes.
- Proven ability to lead teams, coach employees, and drive performance in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated capability to troubleshoot production issues and minimize downtime.
- Solid understanding of safety practices and compliance requirements in an industrial setting.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to clearly convey expectations and feedback.
- Willingness and ability to work a 12-hour night shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) on a rotating 3-2 schedule.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent and applicable work-related experience.
- Previous experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
- Industrial safety training and/or technical training is preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing plant environment, ideally in packaging, paper, or similar industries.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based inside a manufacturing plant and requires working a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM on a rotating 3-2 schedule. The facility is not temperature controlled, so conditions may vary with the seasons. The environment is industrial and production-focused, with active machinery and equipment in operation throughout the shift, requiring consistent attention to safety practices and procedures.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Eastman, GA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
