Appropriate salary / step of the Redding Education Association's bargaining unit contract. Comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications:

* CT teaching certification in Special Education K-12

* Experience with students with behavioral needs a plus

* Prior experience working with children with special needs a plus

* Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Must be flexible, creative, and demonstrate strong organizational skills

* Must be highly motivated and self-directed

Responsibilities:

* Work collaboratively with individual student teams

* Provide Case Manager services, including development, implementation, and monitoring of IEP goals and objectives; liaison with general education teachers; communication with home; running Team meetings.

* Attend PPT's and other meetings for assigned students and present up to date information on progress toward goals and objectives

* Conduct and present educational testing results, using this information to review and revise current IEP goals and objectives

* Collect and manage data pertaining to various student goals and objectives

* Ensure that all related services and class accommodations are being implemented in the appropriate settings

* Participate in professional development and other meetings with the special education department and school-wide faculty

* Adapt and modify curriculum materials and instructional approaches; serve as a resource to the general education staff in regards to working with a diverse learner population

* Implement and monitor behavior support and incentive plans for assigned students ? Testing and instruction at the middle and elementary schools may be required.
