Samuel Staples Elementary is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic long‑term substitute teacher for our Kindergarten program. This full‑time position requires a passionate educator who is committed to fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing the curriculum, managing the classroom, and supporting the development of each child's social, emotional, and academic skills during the absence of the regular teacher.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the kindergarten curriculum and meet the diverse needs of all students.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to students and parents regarding their academic and social development.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting a safe and respectful learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support the overall educational goals of the school.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs and interests of students.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or license for early childhood education.
- Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging and developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young learners.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics and address behavioral challenges effectively.
- Proficiency in using technology for educational purposes and classroom management.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students.
