Responsibilities
- Take direction from certified Reading Specialist to support students with remedial reading needs
- in one-on-one or small group settings
- Assist with preparing instructional materials for student activities
- Respect the confidentiality of student information and not discuss them outside of the classroom
- Refer all parent concerns and questions about any student’s progress to the Reading Specialist
- Associate's degree or evidence of having passed the Para-Pro Assessment
- Ability to communicate and interact with young children in a positive manner, with sensitivity to their needs
- Good organizational skills
- Fundamental understanding of the developmental needs of young children
- Flexibility
- A sense of humor
