Salary:
School nurses are part of the non-certified staff bargaining unit. Salary in accordance with bargaining unit contract. Contract salary is based on one-hundred-eighty (n=180) days per school year with five (n=5) additional days in the summer.
Schedule:The daily work schedule is based on the school day plus a minimum of fifteen minutes of wrap around time both before and after school (7:45 a.m.
- 3:10 p.m.).
- BSN degree
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of CT
- Prior school nursing experience preferred
- Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and maintain confidentiality of student and employee records and information at all times
- Ability to maintain clear, concise health records for students and staff
- Ability to deliver direct clinical services to students and staff in a calm reassuring manner
- Ability to understand the needs of middle-school-aged children
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and use sound judgment
