• Ensure compliance with legal requirements for regulated substances in the laboratory, OSHA Standards, RCRA Regulations, and local, state and federal air and wastewater regulations.
• Review company policies and procedures related to chemical hygiene and assess compliance with the industrial hygiene plan.
• Perform hazard evaluation for new chemicals, determine proper personal protective equipment, and assess need for exposure monitoring.
• Ensure hazardous materials and supplies are properly labeled and documentation is posted upon receipt.
• Coordinate respirator fitness and fit training. Perform right‑to‑know, safety, emergency procedure and chemical hygiene training.
• Schedule and coordinate routine inspections (elevator, sprinkler/fire system, etc.) and conduct routine inspections of eye wash stations, emergency showers, fume hoods, and fire extinguishers.
• Schedule and coordinate hazardous waste pickups.
• Maintain safety, respiratory protection, chemical hygiene and hazardous waste disposal records.
• Perform routine safety inspections for the site.
• Ensure appropriate cleanup of chemical spill events.
• Write and distribute compliance reports to local, state and federal agencies.
• Manage shipping of test materials, study samples, reports, data and equipment.
  • Ensure all transportation regulations are followed when necessary.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date DOT certification for shipment of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date IATA certification for shipment of dangerous goods.
  • Maintain an organized copy of all shipping records for a minimum of three years.
  • Notify appropriate personnel regarding shipment status and tracking information.
• Position is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Easton, MD are encouraged to apply.

• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self‑motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.

• College degree or high school diploma with relevant experience.
• Effective written and spoken communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
