Job Role s and Responsibilities
• Design, coordinate, and test new electrical utility installations
• Support generation, transmission, and distribution electrical infrastructure
• Perform electrical system assessments for future planning
• Prepare specifications for electrical equipment purchases
• Assist in repair and maintenance of electrical facilities
• Support restoration efforts during extreme weather conditions
• Work with outdoor substations and medium voltage switch gear
• Monitor and support power generators operating on liquid and gaseous fuel systems
• Work with protective relays, PLC, and SCADA control systems
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards
• Participate in construction related electrical projects
• Use appropriate PPE and maintain workplace safety standards
Qualifications and Certifications• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
• Either Professional Engineer License or Engineer In Training certification required
• Minimum 4 years of experience in power plant, transmission, and distribution electric system design and operation
• Knowledge of electrical systems up to 69KV
• Experience with substations and medium voltage switch gear
• Knowledge of reciprocating and combustion turbine prime movers
• Experience with protective relays, PLC, and SCADA systems
• Proficiency in NESC and NFPA codes and standards
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Valid driver's license required
