ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Assistant provides Front/Back office duties to various gastroenterology providers in an outpatient setting. Open to individuals who have finished their Medical Assistant (MA) program or those in need of clinical hours before starting graduate school (18‑24 months required). This position is a traveling MOS who will be primarily supporting providers at offsite clinic locations in the Eastern Shore area.
Front Office Duties:
- Greet patients in a courteous and friendly manner, providing a welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments and procedures.
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co‑pays or fees as needed.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information to patients and other callers.
- Complete patient check‑in and check‑out processes.
Back Office Duties:
- Take patient vital signs, record medical histories, and update electronic health records (EHR).
- Administer injections and immunizations as directed by healthcare providers. (on‑site training provided)
- Perform basic laboratory tests, including specimen collection and processing.
- Provide patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare providers.

- A minimum of one‑year experience in a medical office setting (preferred)
