Maintenance Specialist
AVENUES RECOVERY CENTER is a nationwide network of drug and alcohol rehab centers with 18 locations across 7 states, providing highly individualized treatment ranging from detox to outpatient services in modern facilities.
We are seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Specialist with prior experience as a Maintenance Manager to take ownership of all facility and equipment upkeep. This is a hands‑on role with no direct team management responsibilities; you will perform maintenance tasks yourself and coordinate outside contractors as needed.
What You’ll Do- Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and property to identify and address defects.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance and repair procedures.
- Handle general building repairs and renovations (e.g., paint touch‑ups, plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues such as Wi‑Fi, video conferencing, and telehealth equipment.
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance checklists for compliance and safety.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including gardening and snow removal, either personally or through contractors.
- Organize work spaces, storage areas, and furniture as needed.
- Supervise and coordinate outside service providers (plumbers, appliance repair, landscaping).
- Support operational needs such as urgent errands, event setup, and safety monitoring.
- Work effectively in a multi‑unit facility, coordinating around client schedules and staff activities.
- Forecast and plan recurring maintenance needs (painting, refresh schedules).
- Use and maintain an electronic maintenance log to track tasks, repairs, and compliance.
- Coordinate with the corporate office on maintenance planning, reporting, and approvals.
- High School diploma or GED (required).
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Manager or similar leadership role in maintenance operations.
- Experience working in multi‑unit facilities with active client programs and staff schedules.
- Strong hands‑on skills in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and general repair.
- Ability to plan proactively, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
- Innovative problem‑solver with strong multitasking abilities.
- Working knowledge of safety standards and compliance procedures.
- Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks and occasional outdoor work.
- Minimum one‑year sustained sobriety if in recovery.
