Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on night shifts with every other weekend required and floating within specialty as needed.
Responsibilities- Work in a 30-bed Med/Surg Tele unit in a hospital setting
- Observation unit with quick patient turnover and average daily census of 28
- Patient population includes chest pain, abdominal pain, UTI, renal (peritoneal dialysis handled by dialysis nurses), and trauma/ortho cases
- Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6 with lower acuity
- Night shifts: 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
- Required to work every other weekend with four weekends in a four-cycle schedule
- Float within Med/Surg Tele specialty and to a nearby facility as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Royal blue scrubs required
- RNs responsible for clamping/unclamping and documenting peritoneal dialysis exchanges
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Holiday shifts are required according to the hospital’s schedule
- Active MD or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale required
- CPI certification completed during onboarding on-site
