Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)Requirements&Responsibilities:
- ANursingdegreefromanaccreditedcollegeoruniversity.
- Currentunrestrictedlicenseasa Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) inpracticingstate.
- CurrentCPRcertification.
- Directsthedailyactivitiesofthegeriatricnursingassistantsbycurrentfederal,state,andlocalregulationsandguidelines,andestablishedfacilitypoliciesandprocedures.
- Followsthenursingmodeltopromoteholisticcarefortheresidents.
- Participatesintheadmission,discharge,andtransfersofresidentsasrequired.
- Assessesforchangesinresidents’status,notifyingthephysicianandresident’sfamilyorrepresentativeanddocumentingaccordingly.
- Transcribesphysicianorderstothemedicalrecordandcarriesoutordersaswritten.
- Preparesandadministersmedicationsasperphysicians’ordersandobservesforadverseeffectsasindicated.
- Performswoundtreatmentsasperphysicians’orders,observesforchanges,anddocumentsaccordinglyasindicated.
