Field Service Technician
The Field Service Technician performs start-ups, maintenance, inspections, and repairs on commercial and industrial boiler systems, burners, controls, and pressure vessels. This role focuses on diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and combustion-related issues, installing and upgrading combustion controls and related equipment, and completing preventive maintenance and optimization work to improve system reliability and efficiency. The technician responds to service calls and emergency situations, identifies root causes, and implements effective solutions while working safely in demanding industrial environments.
Responsibilities:
- Perform start-ups, routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on commercial and industrial boiler systems, burners, controls, and pressure vessels.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and combustion-related issues on boiler and HVAC systems.
- Install, upgrade, and maintain combustion controls, burners, and related equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks and system optimization work to improve reliability, performance, and energy efficiency.
- Respond to scheduled service calls and emergency situations, quickly identify root causes, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Work safely in industrial environments, including confined spaces, elevated work areas, and high-temperature conditions, following all safety procedures and best practices.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, blueprints, and equipment documentation to plan and execute service work.
- Complete work orders, service documentation, and reports accurately using company software and mobile devices.
- Collaborate with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality service and support.
- Travel daily to customer sites throughout the region, with occasional overnight travel as required.
- Participate in an on-call rotation approximately every six weeks and support after-hours repairs and emergency service needs.
- Support installation teams as needed for new customer projects, including assisting with commissioning and system start-up activities.
Essential
Skills:
- Minimum 3+ years of boiler experience, including hands-on work with boilers, burners, and controls, OR 3+ years in commercial or industrial HVAC service with equivalent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Proven experience working with boilers, burners, combustion controls, and related systems in commercial or industrial environments.
- Strong mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to diagnose complex system issues.
- Solid electrical repair and troubleshooting skills, including working with controls and related components.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, blueprints, and equipment documentation accurately.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and system optimization on boiler and HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including boiler diagnostics and pressure vessels.
- Ability to work safely in confined spaces, elevated work areas, and high-temperature conditions.
- Willingness to travel daily to customer sites and occasionally stay overnight as needed.
- Availability to participate in an on-call rotation approximately every six weeks for after-hours repairs.
- Proficiency using mobile devices and company software to complete work orders, service documentation, and reporting.

Qualifications:
- As a Field Service Technician, Boiler Technician, Service Technician, or Stationary Engineer.
- Experience with pneumatics and HVAC systems in commercial or industrial settings.
- Familiarity with combustion controls and related control systems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Comfort working independently in the field and managing daily travel to multiple customer locations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable service.
- Interest in supporting installation teams for new customer projects and system start-ups.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime to support customer operations and mission-critical systems.
