Accounts Receivable Assistant

Location: Southeast Rehab in North Easton, Massachusetts

Job Summary

Southeast Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center, a skilled nursing facility in North Easton, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our dynamic care team. As an AR Assistant, you will assist in the day-to‑day accounting function of the facility, including maintaining accurate and timely records, processing accounts payable and receivable, and performing other related accounting duties. This is a Full‑Time opportunity with an hourly rate up to $23 an hour.

Responsibilities
  • Discuss billing situations with residents and/or responsible parties, including the Director of Finance
  • Maintain accurate and timely records and reports, including all accounts, journals, deposits, ledgers, etc.
  • Maintain accurate census data
  • Secure all cash and valuables on hand, per policy
  • Maintain the cable/phone billing upon admission and monthly thereafter
  • Follow up on all coinsurance receivables and applied income collections
  • Complete Medicaid redeterminations when applicable
  • Back‑up for the Payroll position
Requirements
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
  • Must be able to type 45 words per minute and use a 10‑key calculator
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents, staff, based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning
  • Is knowledgeable in various payment sources as needed and assists resident and families
  • Is diligent in collections
