You’ll be leading the Company’s estimating department and be responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and profitable electrical construction bids. This position oversees estimating strategy, bid preparation, risk analysis, pricing, quality control, and estimating team performance.
You’ll be working closely with Executive Leadership, Project Management, Operations, Business Development, clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors. Following project award, you’ll be supporting project turnover and providing estimating guidance throughout project execution.

What you need to bring to the table:- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred;10+ years of progressively responsible electrical estimating experienceor equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing electrical construction estimating activities and teams.
- Proven ability to estimate and secure projects while managing risk and profitability.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, labor, equipment, and estimating practices.
- Proficiency with Accubid, Microsoft Office 365, and estimating technology.
- Working knowledge of NEC and applicable building and electrical codes.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, one-lines, schematics, schedules, and contract documents.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, financial, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, time-management, and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
- High level of accuracy, accountability, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- OSHA 10 Certification required; OSHA 30 preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Lead and manage the Company’s estimating function and estimating team.
- Establish estimating priorities, schedules, procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Direct and/or perform quantity take-offs and estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, vendors, and other project costs.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, scopes, addenda, schedules, and contract requirements.
- Solicit, evaluate, negotiate, and incorporate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
- Prepare and review proposals, scope letters, qualifications, clarifications, and exclusions.
- Ensure estimates are accurate, complete, competitive, and submitted on time.
- Evaluate projects for scope, constructability, risk, resources, schedule, and profitability.
- Identify scope gaps, design conflicts, exclusions, procurement concerns, and other potential cost impacts.
- Develop bid strategies that balance competitiveness with risk and profit objectives.
- Lead bid/no-bid evaluations and make pricing recommendations to Executive Leadership.
- Monitor market conditions, labor and material costs, and industry trends.
- Conduct estimate reviews and verify complete project scope and contract compliance.
- Review subcontractor and vendor proposals for pricing, scope, exclusions, and qualifications.
- Compare estimates with historical data, budgets, benchmarks, and current market conditions.
- Ensure assumptions, risks, and pricing decisions are properly documented.
- Participate in preconstruction, project kickoff, estimate review, and turnover meetings.
- Communicate estimate assumptions, budgets, scope, exclusions, and cost objectives to Project Management and Operations.
- Support evaluation of change orders, design changes, field conditions, and other cost impacts.
- Review project performance against the original estimate and incorporate lessons learned into future estimates.
