Learning Assistants (LAs) for the May School of Arts & Sciences are needed for faculty for particular subjects/courses.
Learning Assistants (LAs) for the May School of Arts & Sciences include the following departments:
* STEM
* Computer Science
* Math
* Physics
* Engineering
* Languages, Literatures & Cultures
LAs work closely and meet with their faculty member regularly to help ensure the success of the students in the course. LAs help students in a variety of ways:
attending class to offer in-class support, holding office hours, leading review sessions, reviewing assignments, etc. LAs may work 1-4 hours per week.
Job Requirements
Learning Assistants for the May School of Arts & Sciences must have successfully completed the course for which they are assisting and have a strong command of the subject area as well as strong interpersonal skills. They must have been recommended and requested by a faculty member. The student's overall GPA must be 3.0 or higher, unless an exception has been made by the faculty member.
