Position Summary

As a senior leader within the Navigation Center for Student Success, the Director of Accessibility Services provides vision, strategic direction, and operational oversight for a dynamic student-centered office. The Director is responsible for ensuring that students with disabilities receive equitable access to all aspects of college life by developing, implementing, and continuously improving comprehensive and compliant accommodation services and support programs.

The Director serves as an institutional expert on disability law and accessibility best practices, advising faculty, staff, and administration on compliance, policy, and inclusive design.

The Office of Accessibility Services is a part of the Navigation Center for Student Success at Stonehill College. Comprised of five offices (Academic Advising, Accessibility, Career, International Programs, & Tutoring), the Navigation Center works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to accomplish mission-driven goals related to student success and retention. The Accessibility team devotes attention to the inclusive nature of the Stonehill community and celebrates diversity and promotes equity and inclusion in all its endeavors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Oversight

* Provide strategic direction for Accessibility Services, including long-term planning, goal setting, and assessment aligned with institutional priorities for student success and retention.

* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the office, ensuring efficient, student-centered service delivery across all accommodation processes.

* Develop, implement, and regularly review office policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other applicable federal and state laws.

* Identify emerging trends, technologies, and practices in accessibility and proactively position the College to respond to evolving student needs, including those related to AI and digital learning environments.

* Lead long-range planning efforts for the office, including staffing, budget, technology, and program development.

* Establish and oversee systems for data collection, analysis, and reporting related to student usage, accommodation trends, and program outcomes.

Student Support and Accommodation

* Oversee and engage in the interactive academic and non-academic accommodation process for students with disabilities, ensuring timely, legally compliant, and student-centered outcomes.

* Meet with faculty, students, families, and prospective students as needed to discuss the College's capacity to support individual accessibility needs.

* Maintain a visible and accessible presence for students and faculty, including during office drop-ins, while serving as an escalation point for complex cases and student and faculty concerns requiring additional guidance or intervention.

Institutional Collaboration

* Serve as the institution's primary resource and advocate on matters related to disability access, equity, and inclusion, advising senior leadership, faculty, and staff.
