Material Handler

This position is on the afternoon (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM) shift.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to transport materials to and from storage areas, workstations, and other areas of assignment.
• Operate a side loader to transport tube and bar stock from the storage area into the production facility.
• Operator forklift to remove hoppers, dump hoppers, and supply production lines with hoppers.
• Prepare finished goods, materials, and hoppers for forklift transport.
• Load, transport, unload, and stack materials in accordance with established procedures.
• Communicate non-compliance and/or quality problems to the supervisor and/or management.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Minimum Requirements:

• One year of experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

Preferred Requirements:

• Two years of experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• One year of experience operating a side loader in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands & Frequency Requirements:

• Continuous standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, reaching, etc., and stooping and lifting while performing material handling activities.
• Position requires substantial time spent on the manufacturing floor.
• Frequent handling of objects over ten pounds and occasional handling of objects weighing over 50 pounds.
• Manufacturing work environment with moderate exposure to unusual elements such as wet and/or humid conditions. May include transportation and handling of product waste
• Hearing at a conversational level.
• Operates forklift and similar machinery and equipment.
• Requires climbing into and out of material handling equipment (forklift/crane).
• Required to wear protective safety glasses, hearing protection where required, and safety shoes where required.
