A Machine Operator (Slitting Machine) will have experience operating and maintaining machinery, specifically slitting machines, a strong understanding of production processes, and a commitment to safety and quality. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining slitting machines to ensure efficient and accurate production of products.
Schedule:
3rd Shift | Sunday - Thursday | 10:00pm - 6:30am
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate slitting machines according to specifications and instructions.
- Monitor slitting machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Adjust slitting machine settings as necessary to maintain optimal performance.
- Inspect slit materials/products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Identify and report any defects or issues with the slitting machinery or products.
- Perform daily routine quality checks.
- Report any machine malfunctions and issues to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machines.
- Ensure that all safety devices and guards are in place and functioning correctly.
- Participate in safety training sessions and contribute to a workplace safety culture.
- Maintain accurate records of production quantities.
- Communicate any production issues or concerns to supervisors and management.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety instructions.
- Assist in training new machine operators, including slitting machine operation.
- Follow and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Assist with bi-annual plant inventories.
- Keep equipment clean and maintained.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of slitting machine operation and maintenance procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Forklift experience is preferred.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy (25lbs +) materials.
