Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are seeking an experienced, bilingual (English/Spanish) Panel Processing Supervisor to lead daily operations in the Panel Processing department of our cabinet manufacturing facility. This role oversees the cutting, edge banding, boring/drilling, and machining of panel components, ensuring production goals are met safely, on time, and to quality standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can communicate effectively with a diverse workforce, drive continuous improvement, and develop team members.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise, schedule, and direct panel processing team members (machine operators, material handlers, and support staff) across all department operations
- Oversee operation of panel saws, CNC routers/nested-based machining centers, edgebanders, and point-to-point boring machines
- Plan and prioritize daily production schedules to meet delivery commitments and minimize downtime
- Monitor product quality throughout the process; ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances, edgeband quality, and finish standards; address defects and rework promptly
- Communicate job expectations, safety procedures, and training in both English and Spanish
- Train, coach, and develop team members; conduct performance evaluations and support career growth
- Enforce all safety policies and OSHA requirements; lead safety meetings, ensure proper PPE use and machine guarding, and investigate incidents
- Track and report key metrics (output, scrap/yield, downtime, labor efficiency) and drive continuous improvement initiatives (lean, 5S)
- Coordinate with maintenance on preventive maintenance schedules and equipment repairs
- Manage material flow into and out of the department; coordinate with scheduling, assembly, and finishing departments
- Maintain accurate production records, timekeeping, and attendance for the department
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new team members
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written) — able to train, coach, and document in both languages
- 3+ years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment; wood products, cabinetry, millwork, or panel processing strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of panel processing equipment: panel saws, CNC routers, edgebanders, and boring machines
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, cut lists, and work orders
- Strong understanding of safety practices in a woodworking/manufacturing environment
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, production/ERP software)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience with nested-based manufacturing and CNC programming/software (e.g., Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, or similar)
- Lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement training
- Forklift certification
- Associate degree or technical training in manufacturing, wood technology, or a related field
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on a production floor
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Work environment includes exposure to wood dust, noise, and moving machinery; PPE required
- Ability to work overtime and flexible hours as production demands require
- Competitive salary based on experience:
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k)
