We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) male or female to provide one-on-one in-home nursing care for a pediatric patient with complex medical needs. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for children with tracheostomies and mechanical ventilators and be committed to delivering high-quality, family-centered care in the home setting.
ScheduleDay Shift: 9:00am - 9:00pm
3 Days a week
Every other Saturday, and Sunday
12-hour shifts
ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care to a pediatric patient in the home environment.
Monitor and manage respiratory status, including tracheostomy and ventilator care.
Perform routine tracheostomy care, suctioning, and airway management as needed.
Administer medications, treatments, and feedings according to physician orders and the plan of care.
Monitor vital signs and assess changes in the patient's condition.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and changes in patient status.
Collaborate with family members, physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
Educate and support family members regarding patient care and safety measures.
Ensure compliance with all agency policies, state regulations, and nursing standards.
QualificationsCurrent Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing.
Current CPR certification.
Minimum of one year of nursing experience preferred.
Previous pediatric home health experience preferred.
Required experience with:- Tracheostomy care
- Mechanical ventilator management
- Airway suctioning
- Pediatric respiratory care
Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work independently in a home care setting.
Physical RequirementsAbility to lift, transfer, and position pediatric patients as needed.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform patient care duties throughout a 12-hour shift.
Preferred SkillsPediatric private duty nursing experience.
Experience with gastrostomy tube (G-tube) care and feedings.
Experience managing medically fragile children.
