Security Financial Bank (SFB) is seeking an Accounting & Finance Specialist II to join our Accounting and Finance team. In this role, you’ll support a variety of accounting and financial operations, from accounts payable and general ledger balancing to correspondent accounts, investments, and funds management. As an Accounting & Finance Specialist II, you’ll help complete the day-to-day accounting, finance, and tax operations of the Bank. You’ll work with general ledger accounts, accounts payable, correspondent accounts, investments, and other financial activities while helping ensure transactions and records are accurate, balanced, and completed on time.
You’ll also communicate with vendors and employees throughout the organization, making strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving important to your success.
Your responsibilities will include:- - Review, code, and process invoices, ensuring appropriate documentation and approvals are in place before payment
- - Review and balance correspondent accounts and complete necessary accounting entries
- - Monitor funding balances in the Bank’s primary Fed Funds accounts, wire funds as needed, and complete end-of-day entries
- - Review and balance general ledger accounts, including prepaid expenses, accruals, IRA withholding, and other critical GLs
- - Prepare and upload accounting entries for depreciation and other recurring expenses
- - Support the Bank’s securities portfolio by preparing files and accounting entries, managing collateral pledging, and completing related administrative responsibilities
- - Assist with FHLB advances and other funds management activities
- - Maintain the IC and CDARS portfolio, including customer statements, notices, investment orders, and settlement transactions
- - Assist with gathering documentation and information for accounting audits
- - Communicate with vendors, internal employees, and customers as needed to answer questions and resolve accounting-related issues
- - Look for opportunities to improve the efficiency of accounting processes and procedures
What We’re Looking For:
- - Associate degree in Accounting preferred
- - Candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience will also be considered
- - Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and practices
- - Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- - Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills
- - Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet established deadlines
- - Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess unusual situations and develop logical solutions
- - Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills

- - Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and other business-related software
