Job SummaryWisconsin Public Radio (WPR) is a statewide service with a robust local presence. In this role, you will report to the Regional Manager and work closely with a team of statewide Outreach Specialists from across the state. Your work will help ensure that WPR is an integral part of the local community. In this job, you will help plan and manage details of all external activities including events, community engagement and a regional e-newsletter.
The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, demonstrate an open-mindedness for growth and be able to work in independent and collaborative settings, as well as represent WPR professionally in public. This is a part-time, 20-hour-a-week position. This position is Ongoing/Renewable. This person is expected to support regional events. As such, the work schedule will require flexibility and will be determined after hire.
Some nights and weekends will be required. This position requires work be performed in-person at Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Occasional workplace flexibility may be granted depending on business need. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally needed. Ability to work outside in inclement weather may be needed. Travel is required. Must provide a valid driver's license. Employees may use their own transportation.

- Researches, develops, and facilitates outreach program content and materials
- Delivers outreach program content and materials to community members
- Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of an outreach program
- Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program
- Leads the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers
- May assist with the monitoring of outreach program budget spending
Wisconsin Public Media/Wisconsin Public Radio/Eau Claire
Wisconsin Public Radio has bureaus all across the state. The Outreach Specialist position will be hired in Green Bay, Eau Claire and Wausau. These positions will report to the Regional Manager and will be joining a team that is based across the state.
PBS Wisconsin and Wisconsin Public Radio are part of Wisconsin Public Media. The person in this position will be required to comply with the Wisconsin Public Media Code of Ethics: in addition to the UW-Madison code of ethics.
CompensationThe expected pay for this position is between $24.00 to $27.00 per hour. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.
