Overview and Responsibilities
Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) is establishing a pool of qualified candidates for adjunct and/or substitute instructor positions in Auto Collision Repair & Refinish Technician courses.
Eligible candidates may be considered for teaching opportunities based on departmental needs and availability.
All CVTC instructors are required to conduct in‑person sessions and meet with students regularly. Online instructors must reside within driving distance of one of CVTC's campuses located in Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, Menomonie, Neillsville and River Falls, Wisconsin.
Adjunct instructors serve as partners for students and the College, applying industry knowledge, technology, and collaborative practices to support student success.
- Plan for and instruct courses in the Auto Collision Repair & Refinish Technician area.
- Implement relevant and progressive curriculum.
- Deliver high‑quality instruction through effective learning strategies and environments.
- Create performance‑based assessments aligned with competencies through formative and summative measures.
- Promote student success through timely communication, growth‑based feedback, and strategies that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Meet professional expectations by maintaining currency and contributing to a collaborative culture across the College.
- Model integrity through self‑awareness, personal accountability, ethical behaviour, quality standards, and sustainable practices.
- Apply critical thinking by solving problems, acquiring information, using technology appropriately, and evaluating alternatives.
- Communicate effectively by speaking and writing clearly, concisely, and professionally; practising active listening; reading critically and adapting communication for audience.
- Value diversity by recognising personal biases, adapting to culturally diverse situations, and demonstrating commitment to equity, inclusion, and respectful interactions.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field preparing a person for the occupational area being taught. A technical diploma or journeyworker may be considered if other competencies are present.
- Minimum of 2 years (4,000 hours) of occupational experience in the target job; at least 1 year (2,000 hours) within 5 years prior to hire. One year of recent experience may be waived if the applicant has at least 2 years of post‑secondary teaching experience in the appropriate field within 5 years.
- Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
- Qualified per CVTC requirements at time of and throughout employment, meeting Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements, Faculty Quality Assurance System (FQAS) standards, and/or other licensing standards.
- In evaluating candidates, the College may consider a combination of education, training, and experience providing the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform duties of the position.
