Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) is building a pool of qualified candidates for adjunct and/or substitute instruction in Farm Business & Production Management. Candidates will be considered for openings that may arise before or during each semester. Adjunct instructors are hired on a per‑course basis and may teach face‑to‑face, online, or a hybrid of both.
All CVTC instructors, including online instructors, must reside within driving distance of the college campuses and attend required meetings on campus. Instructors are expected to partner closely with students, promote student success, and support a collaborative learning environment.
Responsibilities- Plan for and instruct courses in Farm Business & Production Management.
- Implement relevant and progressive curriculum.
- Deliver high‑quality instruction using effective learning strategies and environments.
- Create performance‑based assessments aligned with competencies through formative and summative measures.
- Promote student success through timely communication, growth‑based feedback, and strategies that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Maintain professional currency and contribute to a collaborative culture across the College.
- Model integrity through self‑awareness, personal accountability, ethical behavior, quality standards, and sustainable practices.
- Apply critical thinking by problem solving, acquiring relevant information, using technology appropriately, and evaluating alternatives.
- Communicate effectively in writing and speaking, practicing active listening and adapting communication for the audience.
- Recognize personal biases, adapt to different cultural situations, and demonstrate a commitment to respectful interactions with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to the occupation taught. Technical diploma or journey worker may be considered if other qualifications are present.
- Minimum two years (4,000 hours) of occupational experience in the target job, with at least one year (2,000 hours) within five years prior to hire. One year of recent related experience may be waived if at least two years of post‑secondary teaching experience in the relevant field within five years prior to hire are available.
- Experience with dairy and livestock record‑keeping, including software for record‑keeping.
- Experience with dairy and livestock nutrition.
- Experience with dairy and livestock reproduction and genetics.
- Experience with dairy and livestock herd health.
- Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
- Qualified per CVTC requirements at the time of and throughout employment as an instructor. Must also meet and maintain Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements, Faculty Quality Assurance System (FQAS) standards, and any other job‑specific licensing standards.
