Wis Tech Open Lead Editor - HSED Location

Position Details- Starting hourly rate of $30.00 - $40.00. Pay rate will be commensurate with qualifications.
- Hours per week:
Hours will vary, averaging less than 20 hours per week annually. - Work schedule:
Schedule will vary between the hours of 8 a.m.
- 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. This position may require adjusting schedule to meet college, department, and customer needs. Grant-funded, limited-term position through June 30, 2027. - Anticipated start date:

The HSED Lead Editor is responsible for providing editorial leadership and oversight for HSED OER textbooks developed through the Wis Tech Open project. This role ensures consistency, quality, and alignment across textbook content and coordinates contributions from faculty and reviewers. Functional guidance and support for the HSED Lead Editor are provided by the Wis Tech Open Director.
Responsibilities- Ensure the textbook reflects a "one voice" approach, with consistent structure, tone, flow, and clear, accessible language throughout.
- Facilitate WTCS workgroup and/or advisory committee meetings related to textbook development, review, and feedback.
- Review, synthesize, and incorporate revisions based on input from faculty work groups, peer reviewers, and proofreaders.
- Collaborate with the instructional design librarian to provide copyright guidance and to find, attribute, and properly cite resources, while supporting the development of learning activities, digital textbook design, and any related course shells.
- Communicate textbook updates and information to relevant organizations, state work groups, committees, faculty, and industry partners.
- Ensure adherence to established timelines for Wis Tech Open/HSED textbooks.
- Provide reporting data, progress updates, and feedback to the Wis Tech Open Project Director related to the HSED textbook(s).

- Intermediate knowledge of and skills with technology including software programs for communication, data collection, and decision making including, but not limited to, Office 365 Suite.
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Education or related field.
- Minimum of two years teaching experience in an HSED program in Wisconsin.
- Experience writing, editing, or publishing, preferred.
- Experience with WTCS HSED curriculum and Press Books preferred.
