Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesTo successfully perform this role, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. - Lead the design, review, and approval of HVAC control drawings, schedules, submittals, sequences of operation, material lists, network layouts, electrical schematics, and as-built documentation. Select hardware from multiple control vendors and validate the quality and adequacy of supplies and installations.
- Develop and integrate advanced control system programs, ensuring seamless operation of complex building automation systems.
- Oversee and assist with commissioning of controls and associated equipment. Provide senior-level technical leadership and mentorship to engineering and field teams, driving quality, safety, and compliance with company standards.
- Collaborate closely with subcontractors, technicians, and mechanics to align on agreements and work scope.
- Serve as the primary escalation point and technical resource, offering expert guidance, coaching, and hands‑on troubleshooting to resolve complex issues.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, representing the company in high‑impact meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
- Support cost estimation and proposal development, providing technical recommendations and serving as a trusted advisor throughout all project phases.
- Ensure safe operations in strict accordance with company policies and procedures; proactively minimize hazards and manage claims.
- Commit to continuous learning, maintaining a competitive edge through self‑study, certifications, and mastery of company standards, practices, and product lines.
- Actively contribute to company‑wide initiatives that enhance organizational success.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Completion of a technical program in a related field PLUS 5 years or more experience in HVAC controls and building automation systems including proficiency with Tridium Niagara.
- Proven success in leading large‑scale, complex controls projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering fundamentals, commissioning processes, HVAC principles, and business operations.
- Advanced computer proficiency, including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, Visio, Windows OS, and control system software.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities to foster collaboration and represent the company professionally in alignment with its values and mission.
- Willingness to travel locally and regionally based on project and operational requirements.
- Experience with Distech Controls installation preferred.
- This position will support the Eau Claire, WI territory and surrounding areas.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time to customer sites; local/regional travel as required by projects and operational needs.
