Location:

Nekoosa, Wisconsin. The role is a full‑time temporary cooperative position for students in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or Paper Science, starting in 2026. The program is 6 + months (40 hours per week) with hourly rates starting at $25 USD per hour, increasing by graduating year, and includes relocation/mileage reimbursement, housing stipends, mentor programs, and safety allowances.

• Improve the quality control of paper machines by proactively identifying potential problems and troubleshooting issues efficiently.
• Analyze production costs, productivity issues, and provide quality‑control improvement solutions.
• Participate in technical projects within electrical and mechanical teams supporting piping and instrumentation based projects.
• Research and develop processes and guidelines for various functional operational units within the facility.
• Document findings in various systems, interpret data, and translate insights into project recommendations, revised project plans, drawings, and materials.

• Enrolled as a freshman, sophomore, or junior in an accredited degree program.
• Desired majors:
  Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or Paper Science.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong technical writing, presentation, and critical‑thinking skills.
• CAD experience preferred but not required.

• Interest in the pulp and paper industry and a desire to build a career with unlimited learning opportunities.
• Ability to comply with and enforce company, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Excellent time‑management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proven interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Team‑player attitude with ability to work with diverse teams across levels and functions.
• Well‑developed problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• High level of initiative, motivation, and resourcefulness.
• Dependability and strong leadership skills.

The candidate will be required to successfully complete a selection process that may include interviews, an employment background check, a pre‑employment drug and alcohol screen, reference verifications, aptitude tests (for some positions), and a fitness‑for‑duty test (for some positions).
