Our Eau Claire Team is currently looking for an experienced Structural Engineer‑in‑Training that will develop a diverse portfolio of engineering projects with a focus on the design, construction, and maintenance of complex structural systems.
Job DescriptionKrech Ojard & Associates, Inc (KOA) is an engineering and consulting firm with projects being delivered throughout North America and globally. With offices located in the US and Canada, our expertise covers Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, and Railroad Design. As a client‑first focused team, we are involved in projects from the conceptual level through construction completion at existing facilities and greenfield sites.

The Role
Our Eau Claire Team is currently looking for an experienced Structural Engineer‑in‑Training that will develop a diverse portfolio of engineering projects with a focus on the design, construction, and maintenance of complex structural systems. The successful candidate will utilize their experience and expertise to provide solutions to a diverse clientele that includes multinational industry leaders. The day‑to‑day responsibilities include:
- Analysis and design of structural systems and components
- Read and interpret plans and specifications
- Develop and review plans, details, calculations, and specifications of structural systems
- Direct technicians in the preparation of drawings, plans and construction documentation
- Site observations and inspection of construction projects
- Prepare reports and oral presentations for both internal and client use
- Work within multi‑disciplinary teams in varying roles
- BS or MS in Civil or Structural Engineering
- FE certification required (or actively pursuing PE licensure)
- 2+ years of experience in structural engineering and design
- Proficiency in relevant structural engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, Robot Structural Analysis, RISA, Bluebeam, Navisworks or similar)
- Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate and interact with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and clients
- Proficiency with discipline‑specific design tools, codes, and standards
- Ability to travel (anticipated travel not to exceed 25%)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Annual base salary in the range of $65,000‑$90,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications

Some assignments may require visits to construction work sites and industrial facilities that are regulated by OSHA or MSHA. These sites may contain areas of limited accessibility including rough/uneven terrain, stair access, work from heights, confined spaces, mobile equipment, moving machinery, and other typical conditions. To ensure a safe, healthy, and productive work environment, all employees are required to participate in our drug and alcohol program that adheres to DOT regulations.
