Structural Steel Connection Engineer -
Are you an experienced Structural Steel Connection Engineer looking for an opportunity to make a lasting impact? We are partnering with a well-established and growing structural steel organization seeking a motivated engineer to lead connection design efforts on a wide variety of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
Responsibilities- Design structural steel connections in accordance with AISC, AWS, OSHA, IBC, and applicable project specifications.
- Perform engineering calculations for bolted, welded, moment, brace, truss, stair, and miscellaneous steel connections.
- Develop safe, economical, and fabrication-friendly connection designs.
- Collaborate with project managers, detailers, fabricators, and engineers of record throughout the life of each project.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and engineering documentation for accuracy and constructability.
- Provide technical support to fabrication and field teams to resolve engineering challenges.
- Maintain accurate calculation packages and uphold high quality standards.
- Contribute to process improvements and help shape the future growth of the engineering department.
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- 3+ years of structural steel connection design experience.
- Strong understanding of AISC, AWS D1.1, IBC, and OSHA standards.
- Experience with connection design software such as IDEA Stati Ca, RAM Connection, SDS/2, Tekla, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.
- Willingness to pursue licensure in multiple states.
- Experience with delegated connection design and seismic connections.
- Familiarity with BIM workflows and steel detailing software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A collaborative mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and budgets.
- Passion for continuous improvement and helping build a best-in-class engineering team.
- $130,000 - $155,000 base salary
