Business Loan Credit Analyst Intern

In this role, you’ll analyze financial information, support credit decisions, and gain hands‑on exposure to commercial lending and risk assessment alongside experienced professionals.

All applicants must be located in the Chippewa Valley Area & include resume, cover letter, transcript and their anticipated graduation date when applying. If selected for the internship, you must be able to commit to the full 12 months and be enrolled at a university throughout the length of the internship. Must be able to work onsite at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI, throughout the school year and during breaks.

The Business Loan Credit Analyst Intern provides support to the Credit and Business Loan Departments while gaining practical experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, financial statement review, and risk assessment. This position assists with a variety of analytical, administrative, and lending support functions, including reviewing borrower financial monitoring submissions for accuracy and completeness, spreading financial statements, and other special projects as assigned.

Through hands‑on experience and mentorship, the intern develops an understanding of commercial lending principles, financial analysis, credit risk management, and Royal Credit Union's lending philosophy, processes, and practices.

• Compensation:$ per hour (candidates with significant related experience may be higher)

• Assist with credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio monitoring by reviewing borrower financial information, loan applications, tax returns, bank statements, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy
• Complete financial statement spreading, cash flow analysis, covenant testing, and related financial reviews
• Research borrowers, industries, market trends, and peer performance to support underwriting and risk assessment
• Prepare and organize credit presentations, annual reviews, renewals, loan reviews, third-party reports, and other underwriting documentation while ensuring information is accurate, consistent, confidential, and aligned with department standards

• Previous work experience ina customer service, office, banking, accounting, or finance-related environment.

• Enrolled at a University or Technical College throughout the length of the internship, pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Agricultural Business, Banking, or a related field of study.
