The Criminal Justice Collaborating Council (CJCC) Coordinator provides professional staff support to the Criminal Justice Collaborating Council. This position coordinates CJCC initiatives, facilitates collaboration among criminal justice system partners, and assists with data collection, research, and program evaluation to support evidence-based decision making and system improvements within Eau Claire County’s criminal justice system. The position works with criminal justice agencies, County departments, courts, and community organizations to support CJCC initiatives and strategic priorities.
ProgramDevelopment and Coordination
- Facilitate the planning, development, and implementation of Criminal Justice Collaborating Council initiatives and other system improvement programs.
- Work collaboratively with the CJCC Executive Committee to develop and update strategic work plans, policies, and procedures aligned with CJCC mission and priorities.
- Identify, develop, implement, and monitor evidence-based criminal justice programs aimed at enhancing public safety, reducing recidivism, and providing alternatives to incarceration.
- Evaluate existing criminal and juvenile justice programs and recommend improvements, expansion opportunities, or new initiatives based on best practices and research.
- Consult with local, state, and national experts on criminal justice reform and evidence-based practices.
- Coordinate planning activities across County departments and justice partners to advance CJCC goals and priorities.
- Study and develop strategies to coordinate resources, facilities, and services necessary for CJCC initiatives and treatment court programs.
- Serve as the primary liaison among CJCC members, County departments, courts, law enforcement, human services, community organizations, and other justice partners to support coordinated system improvement efforts.
- Convene and facilitate CJCC and subcommittee meetings with a focus on collaboration, decision-making, accountability, and follow-through on identified priorities and action items.
- Foster collaboration and information sharing among criminal justice agencies and community partners to support coordinated, cross-system responses and initiatives.
- Help establish shared goals across agencies and encourage collective ownership of CJCC priorities, initiatives, and outcomes.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with justice system leaders, service providers, government officials, contractors, community partners, impacted populations, and the public.
- Assist in translating CJCC priorities into actionable cross-agency plans, including supporting timelines, communication, and coordination of responsibilities.
- Represent Eau Claire County in collaboration with regional, state, and national criminal justice councils and professional organizations to identify best practices and emerging strategies.
- Provide professional consultation, coordination, and administrative support to CJCC committees and subcommittees.
- Promote and facilitate stakeholder engagement and community participation in CJCC initiatives and justice system improvement efforts.
- Prepare and deliver written reports, presentations, and communications to the CJCC, County leadership, partner agencies, and community stakeholders.
- Lead outreach, communication, and public education efforts related to CJCC initiatives and criminal justice system improvements.
- Promote a diverse, inclusive, and equitable culture and support CJCC efforts to advance understanding of racial and ethnic disparities within the criminal justice system.
- Coordinate the operational and administrative activities of the CJCC.
- Coordinate CJCC meetings, prepare agendas and materials, maintain official records, and ensure compliance with open meeting and public records requirements.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation supporting CJCC operations and initiatives.
- Ensure CJCC programs operate in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and professional standards.
- Coordinate the collection and organization of criminal justice data from multiple agencies to support informed decision-making, program planning, and reporting efforts.
- Assist with compiling research, benchmarking information, and program data to help evaluate program effectiveness and system outcomes.
- Support the identification of service gaps, operational challenges, and areas for improvement within the justice system through data review and stakeholder input.
- Help track and maintain performance measures and reporting standards for CJCC initiatives and treatment court programs.
- Gather information on issues identified by the CJCC and assist in preparing summaries, reports, and recommendations related to policy, procedures, or program improvements.
