The Director of Environmental Services leads, plans, and coordinates all aspects of Environmental Services operations, ensuring high standards of customer service, quality, and regulatory compliance (OSHA, Joint Commission, Infection Control). This role is critically responsible for comprehensive fiscal and financial management, including budget development, operational planning, and efficient resource allocation to maintain the department budget. The Director provides strategic leadership, manages personnel, and oversees equipment and supply acquisition.
Accurately gathers, interprets, and analyzes diverse data sets to inform strategic decisions and optimize operations. Fosters ongoing collaboration and communication utilizing shared goal setting and decision making with physicians, associate providers, department staff and multidisciplinary team members. Supports and upholds Mayo Clinic's mission, vision, and values.
Five years of clinical/technical experience in Healthcare Environmental Services required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional through the American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services, or eligible. Leadership experience in diverse, 24/7 operations required. Experience in healthcare accreditation requirements for the Environment of Care (Joint Commission, DMV, ACHC) is preferred.
