Hey Students! Are you passionate about writing and love turning complex ideas into clear, engaging content? Become a Technical Writer Intern at Royal Credit Union! In this role, you’ll collaborate with professionals, create impactful documentation, and gain hands‑on experience with industry tools like Mad Cap Flare and Microsoft Word.

All applicants must be located in the Chippewa Valley Area & include a resume, cover letter, transcript and their anticipated graduation date when applying. If selected for the internship, you must be able to commit to the full 12 months and be enrolled at a university throughout the length of the internship. Must be able to work onsite at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI, throughout the school year and during breaks.

The Technical Writer Intern will Collect, manage, and analyze information, and explain complex information in a clear and concise manner. Develop, edit, and publish online and hard copy user documentation using Microsoft Word and technical authoring tools such as Mad Cap Flare.

• Compensation: $ per hour (candidates with significant related experience may be higher)

• Write, edit, and publish documentation for assigned projects using Royal’s style guide and tools like Mad Cap Flare and Microsoft Word.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and internal teams to gather information and ensure accuracy in all deliverables.
• Maintain and update content using content management systems, researching and implementing new capabilities as needed.
• Meet performance goals and objectives while supporting Royal’s core values and culture.
• Ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, including completing necessary reports such as CTRs and SARs when required.

• Enrolled at a University or Technical College throughout the length of the internship, pursuing a degree, minor, or certificate in English, Business Communication, Rhetoric, or other related field.
• Must be bondable
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce high‑quality documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and familiarity with other Microsoft Office tools like PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
