- Lead manufacturing operations to ensure production schedules, quality expectations, safety standards, and customer are achieved.
- Lead the planning and prioritization of department activities and resources to maximize throughput, efficiency, labor utilization, and equipment performance.
- Manage departmental labor, overtime, scrap, rework, and operating expenses within established budgets.
- Monitor operational production metrics including productivity, efficiency, scrap, downtime, utilization, on-time delivery, and product quality. Drive corrective actions and continuous improvements to performance not meeting expectations.
- Identify and drive strategic and system level operational improvements to meet business growth objectives.
- Promote a proactive health and safety culture by identifying hazards, conducting safety observations, investigating incidents, and implementing corrective actions.
- Foster a positive work environment built on teamwork, accountability, communication, respect, and continuous improvement and learning.
- Maintain team’s adherence and compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), approved manufacturing processes, policies and procedures, and quality management system requirements.
- Lead collaboratively with all production support departments to facilitate optimized production schedule, product flow, and timely material and resource availability.
- Recruit, train, develop, and retain a high-performing workforce capable of meeting business growth objectives.
- Conduct performance evaluations, establish development plans, provide regular coaching and mentoring, and address performance concerns in a timely and constructive manner.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5-7 years of manufacturing experience preferred; previous work in a medical device or aerospace environment desired; minimum of 3 years previous supervisory experience; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge in many aspects of operations, quality standards, company policies and procedures as well as FDA/ISO/AS9100 regulatory guidelines and applications.
- Proven people leadership skills – ability to coach, mentor, engage and inspire production workforce across multiple shifts.
- Ability to drive strategic level improvements to manufacturing operations including supporting manufacturing functions.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in MRP systems, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
