True Wellness is partnering with Blue Zones, LLC on a multi-year well-being transformation demonstration project for our region. Blue Zones employs evidence-based ways to help people live better, longer. Their work is rooted in the New York Times best-selling books The Blue Zones, Thrive, and The Blue Zones Solution —published by National Geographic books. Blue Zones has deployed these tenets in over 70 communities throughout the U.S., significantly improving health and lowering healthcare costs.
Their work, which focuses on optimizing living environments and policies, has occasioned double digit decreases in obesity and smoking as well as measurable increases in life satisfaction. The Community & Organizational Well-being Lead serves as the relationship lead and trusted partner for worksites, schools, health care organizations, community organizations, restaurants, grocery stores, and other community partners participating in True Wellness initiatives.
This position is responsible for engaging organizations, guiding them through evidence-based wellness and well-being improvement strategies, and supporting them in implementing sustainable changes that positively impact employees, customers, students, and community members.
The Community & Organizational Well-being Lead works collaboratively with community stakeholders to advance organizational well-being, strengthen community partnerships, and create environments that support healthier lifestyles and improved quality of life.
Key ResponsibilitiesOrganizational Engagement & Relationship Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, schools, healthcare providers, nonprofits, restaurants, grocery stores, and other community organizations.
- Identify, recruit, and engage organizations to participate in True Wellness programs and initiatives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for participating organizations.
- Develop trust and credibility with executive leaders, managers, human resource professionals, and community stakeholders.
- Conduct outreach through networking, presentations, meetings, and community events to expand organizational participation.
Community Implementation & Wellness Development
- Guide participating organizations through evidence-based wellness and well-being improvement strategies.
- Assist partners in assessing current environments, policies, and practices related to health and well-being.
- Support organizations in implementing changes that promote healthy behaviors, employee engagement, and community well-being.
- Provide coaching, education, resources, and technical assistance to help organizations achieve their well-being goals.
- Encourage adoption of environmental, cultural, and policy changes that make healthy choices easier and more accessible.
Community Collaboration & Partnership Building
- Foster collaboration among businesses, schools, healthcare organizations, government agencies, and community groups.
- Participate in coalition meetings, community work groups, and stakeholder gatherings.
- Promote alignment between organizational initiatives and broader community wellness goals.
- Serve as a visible ambassador for True Wellness throughout Northwest Wisconsin.
- Support collective efforts that address the social, environmental, and behavioral factors influencing health outcomes.
Project Management & Performance Tracking
- Manage multiple organizational engagement projects simultaneously.
- Establish implementation plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables for participating organizations.
- Monitor progress and document outcomes, participation levels, and success stories.
- Track organizational engagement metrics and evaluate impactful well-being improvements.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for leadership, funders, partners, and community stakeholders.
Communication & Community Outreach
- Develop presentations and facilitate workshops, trainings, and informational sessions.
- Share success stories and organizational outcomes that demonstrate community impact.
- Collaborate with the True Wellness team on messaging, educational materials, and outreach efforts.
- Represent True Wellness at community events, conferences, and public forums.
- Support marketing and communication efforts that increase visibility and participation.
